David Warner’s Struggles in Test Cricket: Analysing the Recent Poor Form

Former Australian cricketer Ian Healy has stated that David Warner was not in top form during the third Test at Headingley. He still wants Usman Khawaja to open the innings with the 36-year-old veteran cricketer in the next fourth Test in Manchester, which begins on July 19.

Warner was dismissed after scoring just one run in the second innings and only four runs in the first, both times being caught by Zak Crawley at slip off the bowling of Warner’s arch rival Stuart Broad.

“What he said about Headingly was not good enough. His technique was much better recently, head over the ball. But all of that disappeared at Headingly,” Healy said.

“He was jumping around, he was unstable at the crease, and his attention was diverted by the crowd. It wasn’t good enough.”
